Oishii Project's GAMETIME
Rating:

I won't lie. The first time I heard about this project, I was a little worried. Not because I had doubts on their success but because I have seen businesses and friendships collapse all the time because of money. I was afraid the same thing would happen to this group. Despite my worries, they converted me into a fan the moment I heard their first release from Oishii!Ichigo called, GAMETIME.

This was Ally and Sally's (Moe_twinstyle) first and last single as members of Oishii Ichigo and Oishii Project. Personally, I don't think it is a bad debut at all. I felt sad when I heard they graduated, but I am happy to hear that they are doing so well in Japan.
The song was catchy and it makes listeners just want to sing along. Before their debut, I never imagined I would rate their song so high. To be fair, I will make sure to make this review as detailed as I can. so people will be able to understand why. Though I am not a music expert and do not have a degree, I have studied a bit of classical music for many years so I know a bit about the subject.

Former Members: Ally and Sally
Music : The song is undeniably catchy. The first time I heard it, I found myself nodding my head to the beat. I didn't mind that it was autotuned though I normally prefer songs without it. Maybe it helps that before I followed them I knew some of the members already individually that time, for example, Nyanko and Jenny. They had Youtube accounts for their singing. So I knew that they had vocal talents in this group.
Most importantly, no one was out of tune and had a nice fluidity. For me, even if you aren't a singer, as long as you can carry a tune well you are really worth sitting down and listening to. My favorite Morning Musume member is Sayumi Michishige and she has one of the worst voices in the group. However, she can carry a tune fine now.
Dance : The dance is adorable and not surprisingly, I enjoyed Kelsey's dancing a lot and quickly became one of my favorite members of the project. I do not know much about dancing, but I have asked a friend of mine who was a dancer before what she thought and even she found Kelsey's dancing impressive. The choreography is very cute and easy to follow even for those who aren't sharp dancers, which is probably good for some fans who want to geek around and try to follow.

Oishii Ichigo Member: Kelsey
Costumes and Member Colors : This division of color very much reminds me of Hello!Project and Morning Musume, which I think is actually a good idea. It is cute and something familiar to idol fans. So, it can work as a hook for more fans as well. I like that there had been no uniforms made and just let the members come as they are. It allows us to see their personality.
I admit that I found it messy at first, but I learned appreciate it and try to determine their individual character. It made Scarlett stand out for me definitely, because she appeared to me like a 'hime-sama' character. It also helped showcasing Chii's silliness in front of the camera. These wouldn't have showed at all if the girls all had uniformed costumes.
Members : I love Chii's cute eyes and scary expressions; Scarlett's quiet character. Each member has her own strengths. Some are dancers, some are singers and others are moodmakers. I think they had a good line up here. Again, it is really said to see the twins go.
Overall Video : I enjoyed the video a lot. It was edited very well, but I might have a small problem probably with the saturation/contrast/filters. If that will be fixed in the future, their videos will most likely become increasingly better. It wasn't perfect, but if the goal was to entertain it certain did that for me. That is why, I am very eager for their next release.
